Who to contact when you need help
Whether it's 2 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning, here's exactly who to reach — so you never have to figure it out in the moment.
A medical emergency? Call 911.
If you or your baby need medical help right now, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Don't wait to reach your doula or Swaddl first — doulas provide wonderful support, but they aren't medical providers.
For non-emergency medical questions, your pediatrician or OB's after-hours line is the right call.
Anything about your care? Your doula is your fastest contact.
Throughout your time with Swaddl, your doula is your main point of contact — for schedule changes, questions before a visit, running late, or anything about the care itself. She's the person closest to your family and the quickest to respond.
Message her any time from your My Doula page — and if she's shared her phone number, calling or texting is completely fine, especially for anything time-sensitive. If you don't have her number yet, just ask; the Message button has a ready-made note for that.
Something urgent about your care that your doula can't solve? Reach Mia.
If you can't reach your doula, a visit falls through, or something about your care doesn't feel right, Mia is the person behind Swaddl and she wants to know. The fastest way is the Ask Mia button in the corner of every page in your account — pick “Urgent” and tell her what's going on.
You can also email her directly at mia@swaddl.co. She reads every message herself and usually replies within a few hours. Overnight messages are seen first thing in the morning — so for anything happening in the moment, your doula is the faster reach.

New parenthood is a lot, and reaching out — about anything, at any hour — is exactly what your doula and Mia are here for. There's no question too small.
A quick note on timing: Swaddl doesn't have a 24/7 phone line. Your doula is the fastest contact for anything about your care, Mia replies to messages and email usually within a few hours (overnight notes get a morning reply), and 911 is always the answer for a medical emergency.
