Swaddl("we," "us," or "our") is a practice management platform that connects families with professional postpartum doulas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Swaddl, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated automatically, and information from third parties.

Information you provide:

• Name, email, phone number, and address
• Due date, birth plan, and family context (for families seeking care)
• Professional credentials, certifications, references, and background check information (for doulas)
• Benefit provider information (e.g., Carrot Fertility, Maven Wallet, Progyny membership details) for billing purposes
• Payment information processed through our payment provider
• Messages you send us through the platform or email

Automatic information:

• Device information, IP address, browser type, and operating system
• Pages visited, actions taken, and time spent on the platform
• Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6)

2. How we use your information

• Match families with qualified, vetted doulas
• Generate and submit compliant claims to employer benefit providers on your behalf
• Process payments and facilitate contracts
• Conduct background checks on doulas through third-party services (Checkr)
• Communicate with you about matches, appointments, billing, and platform updates
• Improve our services and develop new features
• Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as necessary to operate the platform:

• With matched doulas— families' contact information, due date, and service needs are shared with the doulas we match you with.
• With benefit providers — we submit claims and documentation to Carrot Fertility, Maven Wallet, or Progyny as required for reimbursement.
• With service providers — we use vendors for hosting (Vercel), database and authentication (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Resend), background checks (Checkr), and analytics (PostHog). Each processes data on our behalf and is bound by confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons — we may disclose information to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and secure credential storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing mia@swaddl.co.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. Our analytics provider (PostHog) respects the Do Not Track browser setting.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the platform.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your information

8. Children's privacy

Swaddl is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and families who use Swaddl may provide information about their newborns for the purpose of arranging postpartum care; this information is used solely to deliver care and is protected by the same standards as all other personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the platform. Your continued use of Swaddlafter an update means you accept the revised policy.
